The alleged release window is not that far off.
Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding sequel, Death Stranding 2 or DS2, will reportedly release sometime in 2024, according to a recent leak from an employee working on the PlayStation 5 game.
Frank Aliberti, a senior artist at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts, accidentally revealed the release window for the title. According to Aliberti's ArtStation page, the game will be released in 2024. This information has now been removed from the employee's ArtStation website. However, the internet was fast to take screenshots of the page.
The image shows three games, the first of which is the sequel to Kojima's previous title. Fragile is depicted cradling a baby close to herself, with a frightening red light lighting on her. On top of the title are written the letters PS5. It's also worth noting that the long-awaited sequel's release date has been allegedly scheduled for 2024.
The teaser trailer, which debuted at The Game Awards 2022, featured Fragile, played by Lea Seydoux, interacting with a newborn at the start of the clip. As violence ensues, she is seen fleeing the settlement while hiding from the attack.
The clip is packed with different cinematic vistas familiar to Hideo Kojima fans. At the end of the trailer, an old Sam Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, appeared with Fragile by his side. A new organisation logo is also seen, along with "Drawbridge: Both stick and rope, To protect and connect. Together. For tomorrow."
